Our Year 6 cohort recently undertook a week-long experience of our Nation's capital as part of their HASS curriculum. Students immersed themselves in our Australian history and culture, visiting iconic landmarks and engaging in education programs including:

  • The Australian War Memorial where they placed poppies on the Honour Roll
  • Questacon (National Science & Technology Centre) having fun with science experiments
  • The High Court of Australia, learning about our court system
  • The Electoral Education Centre learning the history of voting in Australia and how to correctly vote
  • The CSIRO Discovery Centre Education Program
  • A guided tour during a Flags of Commonwealth Walk (at the National Gallery of Australia)
  • Daring to go atop the Telstra Tower & Mt Ainslie Lookout enjoying magnificent views of Canberra
  • A guided tour of the Reconciliation Place
  • Visiting the National Museum of Australia and Royal Australian Mint, and
  • Guided tours of the Parliament House

It was a busy week, and we are very proud of our students who received compliments on their enthusiasm, behaviour and attitude throughout.
