Year 12 student Madeline Higgins has become the first student in Queensland to receive an early offer to study at university in 2021.
Madeline Higgins is a hard-working student leader who not only excels in her academic studies, but is actively involved in College Life as a Jagera House Captain & Visual Arts Captain. In addition to her studies at St Augustine's College, Maddie successfully completed an Introduction to Aviation course with the University of Southern Queensland as part of their Head Start Program. For this course she achieved a High Distinction and Principal's recommendation, which has earned her an early offer from USQ to study a Bachelor of Aviation. Principal Graham Meertens commends Madeline for her work ethic and initiative, taking advantage of opportunities and being a fantastic role model for our P-12 College.
Madeline was ecstatic at the news, as this will relieve some stress during what has been a tough final year of schooling, requiring resilience from many students.
"I am very excited. My goals are to become a commercial pilot for Qantas and complete my flight training at their academy. "
We wish Madeline all the best for what looks like a bright future to come.
