StAC Woodwind Ensemble Performs at Blessing & Opening of Mater Hospital Springfield

Published 21 May 2026

St Augustine’s College’s talented Woodwind Ensemble recently had the incredible honour of performing at the prestigious Blessing and Opening of the Mater Hospital in Springfield.

The event marked a significant milestone for the Greater Springfield community and was attended by key dignitaries, including the Premier of Queensland, David Crisafulli, Minister for Health and Ambulance Services, Tim Nicholls, and the Governor of Queensland, Dr Jeannette Young.

The occasion also featured special guests, including Channel 9 news host Melissa Downes, acclaimed Australian artist Dami Im, who performed, and Archbishop Shane MacKinlay, who addressed attendees.

The invitation to be part of such a significant community event reflects both the excellence of the College’s music program and the valued role of the arts in bringing communities together. The College is extremely grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this special occasion.
A heartfelt thank you is extended to the Mater Hospital for their generous invitation and support. The College also warmly congratulates its wonderful musicians — Elouise, Sienna, and Zavier — along with Miss Forster, for delivering an outstanding performance that showcased both their musical skill and commitment. We would also like to thank Mrs Snook for her support and coordination of the ensemble participating in the event.
